Mullally...a bit of history... |

(The audio can be turned off at the bottom left of the page). I was born in Cleveland and knew I wanted to be a guitar player at an early age after seeing James Gang perform at the Ohio State Fair. Shortly thereafter, I moved to St. Petersburg Florida with my parents and I soon began playing guitar. I played in a lot of different bands in high school including the Lakewood High School stage band. After graduating, I joined a touring
outfit and being on stage seven nights
a week (plus Sunday matinees!) for 5 or 6 sets a night really helped
me cut my chops. I moved to Chicago
in the early '80's and started playing in "new wave" bands. I played on my first record with a group called Cant
Move. We were regulars on the Chicago club scene performing with
groups like The Kind, Bohemia, and The Suburbs. Five years later I relocated back to St. Pete and actually quit playing guitar for awhile, until my brother Tommy convinced me to start a band again. Tommy Tye Dye
was soon formed, and we played with groups like The Headlites,
Deloris Telescope, Monday Mornings, Multi-Color-House, Sarasota Slim and numerous others in the early '90's. In '92
Tommy Tye Dye later merged with Multi-Color-House. I eventually left that group to make a CD of my own. That CD was Mountain Hike released in 1995. Robert Wegmann and I teamed up soon after that to perform and record his CD entitled Red Hair. We released The Mayfly Glimmer in 2002. I am currently performing as an acoustic solo act and have recently released a new CD called Acoustic Mullallyland.
